For Safe and Healthy Food in Middle-Europe

Excursion to Prague, © Sandra Budzaki

At the beginning of the third millennium, it has proven that improving the quality of the life in Europe is one of the most important issues.

In this respect, the production of safe and healthy food and human nutrition should be in the focus of both research and education. To reach this goal one should enhance the education to be able create experts whose expertise would meet the requirements of the modern food production processes. This network has significant impact and offers a wide range of participation for students and teachers, via joint co-tutelle programs as well as summer schools.

Managing forests for climate change

©kpboonjit / Shutterstock.com

Are you interested in status and trends, globally and locally? Do you want to learn about forest genetic resources or the transfer of forest reproductive material? You want to think about messages for decision makers or the importance of the public awareness?

If yes: welcome to the jungle of ten different CEEPUS Countries. Enjoy the opportunity for our scholars and researchers to build scientific networks through intensive cooperation between scientific and educational institutions. The consortium is located in different parts of Southern Europe and thus in different ecological conditions . From the Mediterranean area in the south, through the alpine areas of the Dinarides mountain range to the Pannonian plain in the north, and from the Alps in the north to the Rhodope mountains in the south. This leads to a huge diversity of ecological conditions, as well as the appearance of different types of forests, the degree and type of threat of forests - due to climate changes.

What our scholars have to say
Dr. Gabriella Vöő
Exchange teacher in Olomouc
There was a large student turnout, the students were interested and they participated in the discussions. I had conversations with colleagues about academic and administrative matters and we also discussed possibilities for joint research projects in the future.
Georgi Mladenov
Working on his master thesis in Sorpon (HU)
“My CEEPUS exchange exceeded my expectations. I managed to progress a lot with my thesis and to acquire new skills in the field of mathematics. I made great contacts both with lectures and students. I hope to welcome my colleagues from the University of Sopron in Ruse (BG) next semester.”
Prof. Jelka Gersak
Professor and network coordinator, Ljubljana
It is important to point out that the activities that have taken place in the framework of student mobility, especially of PhD students, do not end with the end of the mobility, but remain as an important link, in the framework of joint scientific articles and publications in co-authorship.
